What car did Jesus and His disciples drive?
Honda Accord - why?
Because they were in one accord. ;)
Driving around aimlessly takes you somewhere, but it may not be where you want to go at all. It's the same if we go about life aimlessly. Ain't it?
Understanding each other is important, important for any organisation - more so with the church. Otherwise, we would all be running around like the chicken lost its head. The church cannot go far - the limitation of having everyone involved running in 200 different directions. It doesn't help in unity too - except that the paradox might be you are united in not going towards the same direction.
Communication is vital - the lack of communication, or the breakdown - will cost the church its cause. It also means consistent reminders - once off most times don't work. Remember how our mothers remind us (in other words, nag at us) to clean up our rooms? It's only at the 20th time that we finally relent.
So really, humans need to be reminded. Being reinforced with the organisational vision helps us realign to the goal again and again. Even for ourselves, I realise that the more I share the issues close to my heart, the more directional I become. I waste less time.
Well, to minimise exasperation, share only with people who are supportive - make sure they're not supporting you blindly. Otherwise too many negative counsel drags you downwards. Keep the company of those who affirm.
Who/What am I living for?
A question to ponder yet again.
I love you mommy.
