I haven't written in more than 2 weeks. It's been quite difficult getting online as the Internet connection here is constipated and it takes amazingly long to load a simple page. We have been busy as well, raising funds for outreach. We have been going for car washes and doing bake sales to get some money in for the school financial pool.
Last night we got together as a school and cried out to God for finances, and in 2 hours, we raised between the 62 of us, AUD$16 000!!! Basically all we did was worship, pray and obey God's voice. People just gave extravagantly. I was pretty much relearning who God is the whole night. The lesson was really that I don't have to always be performing in order to receive God's blessings. God is a blesser, and that's His character. He doesn't wait for me to act before He does.
To switch to that mentality is really hard because I've been always doing something so that I will receive from God. Relearning a thought, subconscious or otherwise that has been reinforced for 23 years will take some time to undo. =)
So 15 things I am thankful for in coming to Perth:
1. Safe place to grow spiritually
2. Friends who know my journey, who've seen me in my ugliest
3. New friends and new things to learn and unlearn
4. Good food (but of course Malaysian food is still the best!!)
5. Leaders who are committed to seeing me step out
6. Kim - my answered prayer
7. God's faithfulness and commitment in pursuing me
8. Being unburdened from my past - sweet taste of freedom
9. Family here in Perth and Melbourne
10. Free water and nice bread!!
11. Friends and new friends in Perth
12. Tim Tams!! And chocolates of course! =)
13. New culture and learning my own culture - trying to discard some crappy ones.
14. Humility in the base
15. Seeing God performing miracles before my very eyes!! =)
