My apologies for delaying my posts. Have been busy running around, what with my parents here and my sister and her family arriving home from Alaska. Not forgetting that my brother just got a new place and we have to go down to help him where we can. Oh, and his wedding this weekend, and yeah, the missions trip team debriefing too. So now you know how occupied I am.
I actually want to post up some pictures from my FIRST MISSIONS TRIP, but I guess not right now since I have not gotten the set of pictures we took there. It will have to wait until I get back sometime later.
The next 3 nights will be some partying leading to my brother's wedding. How I wish it was not at this time since I would really love to keep myself trim for my brother's Big Day. But then again, there won't be any partying if not for the wedding. LOL.
About the trip to Rompin? It was all good, even though of course we had our mishaps here and there.
Day 1:
We lost our way on the way to the Orang Asli settlement, and it took us 3 extra hours to get to the place we were heading towards. Children's ministry was cancelled, but if not for that, then the trip would have started on a different note. It was CG night with the believers.
Day 2:
We had visitation on the second day to some key leaders in the OA community. Purpose is to continue building the bridge and strengthening ties between the church and the people. Continued with prayer walk and visitation again in the afternoon. Main purpose was to try to 'catch' the male youths in the village. At night we had a 'Movie Night'. 36 turned up - history making attendance.
Day 3:
After Sunday service, we did visitation again in the afternoon, and managed to speak to some male teenagers in the kampung. They turned up for our event that night (where we had a play about Jesus' birth) and that was a breakthrough in attendance as well as in the guys coming to the church ground.
Day 4:
Visitation again to make a good closure to our trip there. Was having problems with the van, it would not start on its own. Whenever the engine died we had to push start the van. Another 7 hours journey home.
That was a summary of what we did at the kampung. God is indeed working in the village and we praise Him that what was needed to be done, He had during our 4 days at the kampung. Will share with some of you in more detail about what I learned during my 4 days at the kampung when and if I see you. God bless.
