This seems more like a dormant than an active blog these days. I wonder why I began to reduce writing down my thoughts. Scatterbrain syndrome perhaps?
We just celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. It is crazy how the year blazed past us. There were so many hardships - moments where I thought I could not redeem for what I had done but God in His goodness and His promise brought us back together as one again and again.
Here I want to record the many fun moments and firsts we've had over this last 1 year.
- Travelled to Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand together.
- Planted our very first plants in our vegetable garden and excitingly yielded coriander, broccoli, bok choy which were grown from seeds.
- Also yielded potatoes and beet leaves and weeded out our garden.
- Camped at the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia and recently for my 30th birthday at Lake Pukaki by Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo.
- Tobogganed and skated on ice on a pond for the first time in my life (and first time with Matt) in Canada!
- Rode on an Asian style motorcycle in Thailand together.
- Saw God using us together as a couple praying over people and giving us pictures or interpretations to complement what the Lord gave us. A little glimpse of what could be and more in the future.
- Made our first home in New Zealand a very warm, cozy and welcoming place for anyone.
- Celebrated our wedding twice - in Canada and Malaysia! And went for honeymoon twice too.
- Many fun and funny moments at home goofing around.
- Baking and cooking together.
- Dreaming of one day owning a home of our own, and what we would like in it.
- Making Christmas ornaments together.
- Taking a campervan up to Auckland.
- Going to a rugby game in Christchurch. The Crusaders' game.
- Hiking in Queenstown and climbing at the Port Hills.
- We've slept on more than 30 beds over this last year. The exact number is at home.
I guess there are moments that you can't record but you just remember. It is so good to create fun and memories together. We have been very blessed by the Lord to be able to do many of these things. I am overwhelmed with thankfulness that we are far more in unity now than we have ever been and hope that that continues growing.
I love you bubs!
