So I'm in Cairo now. It's been 4 days, and we went on the falooka on River Nile today. It was a surprise our leaders arranged for us. I just got back from a boys' orphanage, it was really fun actually. I felt safe in there although on most parts on the street I don't feel entirely safe walking. Thank God we're not allowed to go out alone anyway.
Cairo is cold and dry, I like the weather but I can't stand the dust. It's not doing my nose any good actually. :p Oh well, I'll live with that.
We were in Luxor before we came back here to Cairo and we were there for 11 days. I was given a room to myself with a balcony with the background of the Nile River. It's a beautiful place. We were there to help support the existing ministry, and we were also able to work with a French team which was there.
One of the highlights for me there was the climbing up of the Kings & Queens Valley mountains. It was about a 2 hour climb up and somewhere near the top, on the stones, you can actually find seashells. For us that really was an evidence of the Flood in Genesis.
This update is really unorganised and random, but I guess it's good to hear some news from me after such a long time eh?
The French team was a blessing to me. They were a bunch of men, and if you know, my team is made up of 10 girls and 2 guys. We obviously needed some male figures to balance up our team somehow. So it was good to have men who became my brothers and my fathers.
We will be flying back to South East Asia this coming Monday. I guess maybe then will I be able to update again. In the mean time, will try to post up some pictures if I'm able to.
love,
gracey
